My latest collection is based on the hidden wonders our woodland.
Our Hidden Woodland Wonders
Having been brought up by the sea , I have a strong connection with it , but when I moved to Pontyclun I only had the Welsh woods to explore near my house .
These woods opened a new inspiration for me . My husband and I would wonder quietly around the still forest listening out to see if we could hear or see any woodland creatures . This is where my inspiration for our Welsh woodland creatures came from.
At nighttime when you walk past the entrance of the forest you can hear the owl calling and see flashes of orange darting through the undergrowth . Thinking it was a dog but then realise it’s the mysterious fox. When I walk through the forest I can sometimes see the hidden underground homes of hares and rabbits .
We are so lucky in Wales to have both beautiful woodland and costs . I feel Wales get so much focus on our coastline which is lovely and this why I started think of our Welsh old ancient forests . I want to showcase these beautiful creatures that are tucked away and hidden in our woodlands
A love of ceramics
